Norway 2011 ESC Stella Mwangi ‘Haba Haba’

Nairobi-born Stella Mwangi has been picked to represent Norway in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf with her song “Haba Haba.”

Ms Mwangi won tonight’s Melodi Grand Prix (MGP) “Gold final” with 280,217 votes, beating The BlackSheeps, The Lucky Bullets, Sie Gubba, Helene Bøksle, Babel Fish, Åste & Rikke, and Hanne Sørvaag.

Stella Viviana Wachera Mwangi, also known for her stage name STL has been living in Norway since she was four. The 26-year-old Kenyan-Norwegian has worked with artists like Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross and Flo-Rida. Some of her songs have been used in films like American Pie, Save the Last Dance, and CSI New York.

Norway will compete against Albania, Finland, Georgia, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Armenia, Poland and Turkey in the first semi-final on 10th May.
